Hi Karen- thx for the news on the tickets! However I don’t rember entering and I live in Chicago. As much as I’d love to be there I won’t be able to be in Atlanta this weekend. Can you give them to someone else? So sorry.

Thanks, Cheryl. I’m guessing you are getting it from Feedburner and Mailchimp?? Feedburner wasn’t working consistently so I switched to Mailchimp for my emails, and I think Feedburner is now working again. Sorry about that. Let me see what I can do.

    Hi!

I came across your website and really enjoyed reading through it. I wanted to see if you were open to guest contributions? I work for Modernize.com and we’re looking to contribute articles about home improvement and decor and think your website would be a great fit!
Here are a couple examples of recent articles our writers have written:

Let me know if you have a topic in mind and we can get started right away.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Dear Karen,
I always look forward to reading your blogs, You’ve provided me with many inspiring projects. I have arthritis in my hands and feet so spend a lot of time on the web, your blogs get me up and doing…. I’m sorry to say that I almost didn’t read this one because it dealt with 3rd Grade. But….
I’m so glad that I did read it. Thank you so much for sharing such an inspiring tribute. You made it sound like your daughter loves going to school. I did too, I have always loved to learn and to this day bury myself in the books and day dreaming of all the things I am learning… Unfortunately memories of my school days are clouded by less than supportive tolerance, understanding acknowledgement of each students gifts and encouragement. I remember being subjected to ridicule, teasing, and being left out because I didn’t fit in with the norms of Catholic school. My life might have been so much different and happier had I been in such a nurturing environment. Kudos to you for taking a second look and recognizing the value. Kudo’s to the school district they deserve a huge round of applause. and continue their good work. I sincerely hope M’s future school experiences will continue to be as wonderful.
I think it would be wonderful to see this on National TV to inspire and encourage other schools and students. Perhaps Good Morning America or Today ?.

I printed out your tribute and will use it in several ways. I have retired after almost 40 years as a nurse, many of the patients I helped to care for came to our emergency room, trauma or or psychiatric units because of bullying, beatings, physical emotional and mental abuse, or low self esteem and loss of hope that have lead to self mutilation or suicide attempts.. I volunteer my time with troubled youth, we are using a workbook on nurturing and rebuilding self esteem by working through painful memories from birth, childhood, adolescence through adulthood by imagining themselves in ideal conditions and re-parenting and loving themselves for surviving, and growing their future selves into the wonderful people that have been hiding behind the pain. . I know the people I work with will enjoy and grow by imagining themselves in such a wonderful environment. I will also share it with teacher friends who are like minded. I will also share it with our local assembly woman, and school district.
Hope to see this on National TV and How about an Annual Awards and Recognition.Week.
Regards, . Paula Brady, RN BSN, MA, CLNC Former Captain, USAF Nurse Corps
