Day One of Thirty Days of Gratitude: Dear Husband

November 1, 2012 By Karen Cooper 3 Comments

Welcome to November and Thirty Days of Gratitude!

(If you missed what the Thirty Days of Gratitude Project is, please see this post about the project.)

For Day 1, I thought it only made sense to start with Dear Husband.  I am so immensely grateful for him.  He puts up with supports all of my DIY projects, reorganization efforts, and rearranging of furniture.  And all he asks in return is that I let him know where I put everything.  That’s true love, folks.

I met Dear Husband while we were working at the same law firm.  We actually dated in secret for two years! (We didn’t want to tell anyone at work.)  When we finally decided to tell people we were dating, the reaction from my boss was, well, interesting…he said, “Whew! I’m so glad. I was going to fix you up with someone, but you never talked about going out. I thought you were a loser.”  Awesome.

For the best engagement story ever, see THIS POST. Seriously, it’s the best story ever.

And while I think that our initial attraction had to do, at least in part, with the fact that I had been at Bear Bryant’s last game (he is a huge Alabama Crimson Tide fan!), we quickly transcended that.  We’ve been together for more than fifteen years and married for eleven.  He’s my rock.  He’s an amazing partner to go through life with.

What are you grateful for?  Join me in giving thanks all month long!
