Twas the week of Halloween,
time for black cats, spiders, a mouse.
But not a pumpkin was decorated,
no candy in the house.
The costumes weren’t ready.
The kids were in a fury.
I knew I needed decorations
and needed them ready in a hurry!
I grabbed some foam pumpkins, scissors, spray paint, and ScotchBlue Delicate Surfaces Painters Tape.*
I knew it’d be quick; I couldn’t be late.
My first thought was a web,
so a white undercoat I painted.
I taped off the stem first,
so that it stayed untainted.
(I.e., brown, but that didn’t rhyme. Anyway…).
Once the paint dried,
I taped off the designs.
A haunted house for sure,
and a spider web would be fine.
I created the shapes;
the tape was easy to trim.
My daughter helped,
with vigor and vim.
Outside we went,
sprayed a coat of chalkboard paint in black.
Spray light, even coats.
Get it into every crack.
Once it dried, we pulled off the tape.
So excited!
Our mouths were agape!
You can make these easy painted pumpkins,
you don’t need a super-hero cape.
Come up with a cute design,
and use the right tape!
Happy Halloween Week!
