Family Tree (Thirty Days of Gratitude, Day 12)

November 12, 2017 By Karen Cooper Leave a Comment

This morning at Sunday school, my daughter had to make a family tree.

There are a few important things about this family tree project that I feel you should know.

(1) We did the same project when my son was this age, two years ago. For this year’s project, I just unglued the photos from my son’s family tree and used them here. I figure, when this is all said and done, we really only need one family tree, so no need to reprint the same photos. Also, I kind of forgot about printing the photos out until about 10 pm last night. Don’t judge.

(2) Speaking of the family tree photos, the photo on the tree that represents my grandmother is not actually my grandmother.

Dear Husband was in charge of this project when my son did it, and we didn’t have a photo of my grandmother and I was out of town or otherwise out of commission (I don’t remember which).

So, Dear Husband printed a photo he found on the internet of some random older lady who looked somewhat like my grandmother and used that on my son’s family tree. When my son came home with the completed tree, I burst out laughing when I saw it!

It seemed only fair (and funny) that we use the same photo of my faux grandmother on my daughter’s tree, too. So she’s up there, with all our real family.

Cracks me up every time I look at it.

(3) I’m so grateful for our nutty family.
