July 4th Table on a Dollar Store Budget

June 29, 2014 By Karen Cooper Leave a Comment

It’s almost July 4th! That means fireworks, hot dogs, apple pie, and BBQ! For your party, don’t feel like you have to spend a million bucks to make your table festive. I created this tablescape with items from the dollar section at Target (no, this is not a sponsored post; I just shop there), the grocery store, and the dollar store! Here’s how to create a fun July 4th table on a dollar store budget!

Tulips are my favorite flower. And how patriotic to have red tulips in a blue and white vase.

Cost: Tulips were $5 for 10 stems and I had the vase. I bought two bouquets, so the total cost was $10 for 20 stems.

The sparkly star table weights came from the dollar store. I love how they look like fireworks! Total cost for 3: $3.

Other goodies found at the dollar store:

The flags were 3 for $1 and I bought six. The tablecloth, the napkins, the basket for the hot dog buns, the basket for the chips, and the ramekins with the condiments also came from the dollar store. Total cost: $5.

From Target’s dollar bins, I found the package of straws with pinwheels: $3 for 8 straws. The mason jars also came from Target. They were 6 for $10.99. This was my big splurge for this table, but I know I’ll use them over and over.

The baskets for the hot dogs were 3 for $1. I bought two packs (6 total), so the total cost was $2.

The total cost for this whole tablescape?  $35.99.

Not a lot of Benjamins! (Get it? 4th of July humor!)

Happy 4th of July! Thanks for stopping by!
