Next on the List: The Downstairs Bathroom

February 27, 2014 By Karen Cooper 6 Comments

Hi there! I know, I’ve been kind of quiet lately. I’ve been grading papers. But now I’m back and ready for some DIY fun! Time to announce the next big project.

You know that we’re shifting around the rooms in our home this summer. Well, as a first step toward that, I need to paint the guest bathroom – this is the bathroom that will become the master bath.

Here are the “before” pics of the bathroom, just so you can see what I’m tackling:

“I’m so bluuuuuuuue…”

I know – so modern, right?

To be perfectly honest, I think the challenge with this bathroom will be to not rip the entire thing out when I go in to paint! The more I look at it, the more I want to just ditch the whole thing!

Remember what I found when I ripped out the 80s medicine cabinet? If not, that post is HERE – you won’t believe it!

I have picked the paint color already. And I am going to tackle a skill I have always had trouble mastering (no, it doesn’t involve a curtain rod!), so stay tuned for that. It’s going to be fun!

I missed you all. I’m glad to be back. What have you been up to lately?

Do tell, Karen. What’s the new color? Some of us are very impatient you know! Looking forward to seeing what you have up your sleeve.
Oh, and glad you’re back … I was ready to send out the hounds! If your snow is as deep as ours, hound dogs are about all that could find you!

Oh, Cheryl, I’m so glad you missed me! 🙂 Thankfully, we have no snow. We’ve had enough of winter here, for sure. I’ll try to find a paint chip of the color online and post it later on. Gotta keep everyone in suspense!

The anticipation will do me in….just a hint???? please ohplease oh pleeeese!!!!
My main course has been to stay warm. We’ve broke record on top of record for cold these past few days. Last night we had an actual temp of minus -28* with a wind-chill negative -60*! Tonight is only supposed to be a tad better. My kids and I walked to the bank today (a couple of blocks) and after reading the temp on the clock, my daughter said, “Oh it’s 6 degrees, no wonder why it feels so warm.” So you know our blood gets thick up here! lol!
I will stay tuned to see bathroom progress! Good luck!

LOL Sharon! I used to live in Michigan and half my family is from Chicago, so I’ve been in some cold weather, but this winter has just been brutal for you and so many others. I don’t know how you stand it, honestly. Glad you have some thick blood!!! Stay warm, friend!
