Plans for the Master Bathroom

May 23, 2014 By Karen Cooper Leave a Comment

Now that the Great Room Move-Around is complete, we are focusing on renovating our master bathroom. And now that I’m focused on it, here are the plans for the master bathroom.

Here is the before picture of that bathroom:

This bathroom is actually pretty big, especially when you add the wonky vanity area on the other side of the shower wall. It’s a vanity that is plumbed but has never had a sink or been used.

The very talented Anja and Juan of Studio d+c drew up the plans:

Awesome, right? I’ve already picked out a tub and the tile for the master bath.

The tub is from Craig’s List – a bargain at $130 – but will have to be refinished. The wall tile is the 6 x 12 gray Carrera marble; the floor, Carrera marble hexagons.

For the vanity in the master bath, I’m going with this sleek vanity from Ikea:

I still have to pick out the lighting and the faucets for the sink.

For the powder room, I found this adorable medicine cabinet for $4 at the thrift store:

It needs sanding and a coat of paint.

For the vanity in the powder room, I’m not sure yet what to use. I want to repurpose something. Maybe this chest I found long ago but have never repainted?

What do you think? Fancy, huh? I’m so excited!
