I’ve been bitten by the Christmas decorating bug! I wanted a new wreath for our front door this year (this was our wreath last year, although we kept it inside), and I wanted it to reflect something about me/us. After cooking all during Thanksgiving weekend, I decided to make a wreath that a chef would love!
I found the wreath at my favorite thrift store, Second Life Thrift Store, for $5.99, less 20% on their discount day!
I didn’t love the gold ball ornaments and they weren’t in good shape, so I removed them.
Thankfully, they were just wrapped with twist-tie kind of thingies (I’m sure that’s the technical term), so they were easy to remove.
Then I had to figure out how to decorate it. I found my box of cookie cutters, but my daughter said they looked bad (she’s so subtle).
I found a package of cupcake stencils from Crate and Barrel in the box and I’d never used them. They had little tabs on them and they were perfect to attach them to the wreath.
I just wrapped the flexible branches of the wreath around those tabs.
I did add one cookie cutter – it’s house-shaped.
Tied up a burlap bow and voila! Our front door wreath. It reflects what’s going on inside – cooking and DIY/house projects!
Have you started decorating for Christmas? What have you been up to?
Thank you for stopping by,
