Earth Day is next week! In honor of Earth Day, I thought I’d celebrate by sharing some of my favorite upcycling projects! Click on the link or the picture to go to the post with instructions for how to complete each project.
1. Lamp from Old Tripod
I found this tripod at a local thrift store and turned the tripod into a lamp.
All you need is a tripod, a lamp kit from a hardware store, and a lamp shade. The lamp kit comes with instructions and is not hard to wire. What a bright idea! (HA! Get it? Lamp humor, har har!)
2. Headboard from Old Gym Floor
OK, so I know most of you don’t have old gym floors lying around, but if you find one at a salvage store, you can nail it to the wall and turn an old gym floor into a headboard. I love it in my son’s sports-themed room!
3. Old Window Becomes Memo Board
I find old windows on the side of the road, in trash heaps, all the time. With a little cleaning and some decorative paper, you can turn a window into a fun and colorful memo board.

4. Old Shutters into Privacy Screen
I love our neighbors, but our next door neighbors’ dogs are, well, a bit loud. To try to counteract some of the noise, I built this privacy screen from old shutters.
5. Upcycled Candy Jars
If you have some glass jars – like those from pasta sauce – and some candlesticks, you can turn glass jars into these candy jars.
The jars here were from pasta sauce; the candlesticks were from our local thrift store and very cheap!
Glue holiday decor to magnets and stick to the jar top for each holiday. You can make eyeballs for Halloween, ornaments for Christmas, plastic eggs or bunnies for Easter…you get the idea.
I hope this has given you some fun Earth Day upcycling projects! Rescue, reuse, recycle! What are your favorite upcycling projects?

Happy Earth Day. It’s a nice one here. My favorites of your upcycled projects here were the tripod lamp and the window memo board!
Thanks, Cheryl! We had a rainy Earth Day here, but a good day to stay inside and do a project, right? Hope you are doing well!
